- Clinical Trials
Several clinical trials are investigating treatments, prevention strategies, diagnostic tests, and other issues related to Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
Many Phase I trials and small Phase II trials take place at a single site, especially at locations near Bethesda, Maryland, the home of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). Larger Phase II and Phase III trials often occur at multiple sites across the United States.
The website ClinicalTrials.gov is a searchable database maintained by the NIH. Each page provides details about the design and purpose of the trial, criteria for participation, and a list of enrollment centers. We have also provided fact sheets about some of the drugs being investigated.
